How to Apply:
Interested farmers market vandors can apply through the online application form. Each application is carefully reviewed to ensure a good fit for the event. If accepted, vendors will receive further instructions regarding payment and setup.
After the Vendor is Accepted: Important Information
Event Setup and Teardown:
Vendors are responsible for setting up their booths before the event begins and tearing them down afterward. Specific setup and teardown times will be provided. A $50 fee will be charged for late setup or teardown. Vendors are fully responsible for their entire display, including tables, tents, weights, or other materials needed for their booth, rain or shine.
Booth Decoration:
Vendors are encouraged to decorate their booths creatively to attract more visitors. A well-presented and visually appealing booth can make a big difference in drawing in customers. Adding personal touches, using colorful displays, and showcasing products in a fun, engaging way enhances the overall market experience and can help boost sales.
Offering Samples:
Vendors are highly encouraged to offer samples, if their products are suitable for it, as this can be an effective way to attract potential customers and allow them to experience the quality and uniqueness of the produce. Offering samples not only enhances the market experience but also helps vendors showcase their products in a hands-on way.
Booth Maintenance:
Vendors are responsible for maintaining an attractive and clean booth throughout the event. It is advised to have additional stock on hand to replenish displays when they become sparse. If vendor offers samples, please provide a trash bin for disposal.
Sales and POS System:
Each vendor is responsible for managing their own sales transactions, including providing a point-of-sale (POS) system. Vendor must ensure they are equipped to handle sales effectively, whether through cash, credit card, or other payment methods.
Security:
Security will be present throughout the event to help prevent shoplifting and ensure the safety of all products and attendees. While every precaution is taken to protect products, the event layout may not allow for full monitoring of all shopping activity. Vendors are encouraged to stay attentive, as the Great Crop Contest & Market cannot assume responsibility for damaged or stolen items.
Communication:
Regular communication will be maintained with all participating vendors via email to provide updates and address any concerns. Vendors will be kept informed of event-related details, including setup times, schedules, and other necessary information.
Marketing Support:
The Great Crop Contest & Market will provide visibility for vendors through social media, email newsletters, and local advertisements. Graphics will be provided to vendors for use on social media and websites, promoting their participation and showcasing their products. It is recommended that vendors share these graphics in the weeks leading up to the event and make additional posts to maximize exposure.
Weather Considerations:
Vendors are responsible for providing their own weather protection, such as tents or coverings, for their booths. The event will take place rain or shine, so preparedness for any weather conditions is essential. All tents must be secured to withstand high winds—weights are mandatory to stabilize and anchor tents, and vendors will not be permitted to participate without them.
Vendor Tax Responsibility:
Vendors are responsible for reporting their own income and sales taxes. The event does not issue tax forms or report vendor earnings. If you have questions about how to report income, please consult a tax professional.
