At the Great Crop Contest & Market, the heart of the event is competition. We celebrate the outstanding efforts of local growers by hosting a series of contests that spotlight the finest fruits, vegetables, honey, and flowers, all timed to align with the peak harvest of each season. Each contest gives participants the chance to showcase their best crops and compete for recognition in categories designed to reflect the diverse abundance of the seasonal harvests. Winners are announced at the end of each market, making the contest an exciting highlight of the day!
How to Enter the Contest:
Interested growers can enter the Great Crop Contest by filling out our online entry form. Each submission is carefully reviewed to ensure it meets the contest criteria. Once you complete the entry form, you will receive detailed instructions for the contest and guidelines for showcasing your harvest.
Entry Fee:
$10 per category


Winning Prizes:
Each category winner will receive a ribbon, a prize package, and bragging rights as the best in the community. The Overall Great Crop Contest Champion will also receive a special trophy and free booth space at the next seasons’s event.

After Contest Entry is Accepted:

After entering the contest, each contestant will receive a detailed packet outlining the contest guidelines, including judging criteria, display requirements, and set up. These guidelines should be reviewed carefully to ensure all entries meet the necessary criteria.
Event Day Instructions:
Specific instructions will be provided on where and when to bring contest entries on the day of the event. Timely arrival is essential to ensure a smooth check-in and setup process.
Display Setup:
Contestants are responsible for setting up their entries in the designated contest area. This includes arranging contest entry in an appealing manner for judging. A name card must be provided with the contestants name, the item being displayed, and the contest category it is entered into. This ensures proper identification and consideration during the judging process.
Judging Process:
Judging will take place during the event, with entries evaluated based on category-specific criteria, such as quality, size, color, and overall presentation. Contestants are not required to be present during the judging, but all entries must be set up by the designated time.
Announcement of Winners:
Winners will be announced at the end of the event. Contestants must be in attendance to claim their prizes during the awards ceremony. If not present, the title will still be awarded, but any prizes will be forfeited.
Marketing and Recognition:
Winning entries will be featured on social media platforms, the event website, and in newsletters, offering recognition within the community. Contestants are encouraged to share this coverage with their friends and family.
