What is the Great Crop Contest & Market?

The Great Crop Contest & Market is a seasonal event that celebrates the best fruits, vegetables, honey, and flowers grown by local gardeners and farmers. It features both a contest and a market where participants can showcase and sell their produce.

How do I enter the contest?

You can enter the contest by filling out our online entry form and selecting the categories you wish to compete in. There is a $10 entry fee per category.

How can I become a vendor?

If you grow fruits, vegetables, honey, or flowers, you can apply to be a vendor by filling out our online application. We review each application to ensure a great fit for the market. Vendor booths are $125 to $225 for the day.

Are garden and cottage products producers able to become vendors?

Yes, vendors offering garden and cottage products (jams, pickles, etc.) are welcome to apply to participate in the market. However, we limit the number of non-grower vendors to maintain the focus on fresh, locally grown produce and plants, ensuring the event stays true to its roots in supporting local growers.

Are vendors responsible for their own tents and weather protection?

Yes, vendors are responsible for providing their own tent, tent wind weights, display setup, and weather protection for their booths. The event is held rain or shine, so please come prepared.

Is there an admission fee to attend the event?

No, the event is free and open to the public.

How are contest winners chosen?

Contest entries are judged by a panel of experts based on criteria specific to each category. Winners are announced at the end of the event.

Can I participate in both the contest and the market?

Yes, participants are welcome to enter the contest and also have a booth at the market to sell their produce.

How often are events held?

The Great Crop Contest & Market is held four times a year,  once during each growing season.

Is there security at the events?

Yes, we have security measures in place to ensure the safety of our vendors, products, and attendees throughout the event. Our security team also helps to prevent shoplifting and ensure a secure environment for everyone.

Where are the events held?

Our events take place at pop-up locations in great areas known for high exposure and a good buyer base. Each venue is carefully selected to maximize visibility and attract a diverse and engaged audience.
